TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee demands arrest of Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar for colluding closely with the criminals of BJP and obstructing public servants from discharging duties

KOLKATA 26 NOV : Trinamool Congress demands arrest by police against Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar for working closely with the criminals of BJP and obstructing public servants from discharging their duties.

On Thursday , TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee accuses West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar of obstructing the probe on Thursday. Especially, the investigation against purported chartered accountant Govind Agarwal. Notably, Agarwal was arrested by the Kolkata Police on November 21 for a 2017 corruption case.

During a press conference, Banerjee said that just a day after Agarwal’s arrest, Governor Dhankar had tweeted against the Kolkata Police. In addition, Banerjee went on to mention how the Governor had accused that the entire operation was politically motivated. To this, the MP commented that it only means that the Governor intended to impede the probe. 

So, now he requests the Kolkata Police to initiate a prosecution against the Bengal Governor under section 186 and 189 of the IPC. Also, Banerjee reminded that this same case was also investigated by the ED, which falls under the central government. Hence, the TMC MP appealed to the President to remove the Governor from his post. 

Moreover, Kalyan has also alleged that the Governor does have connections with people who have criminal backgrounds, previously. Banerjee won the 2019 Lok Sabha Polls from the Serampore constituency in the Hooghly district. 

In fact, Banerjee did call this press meet after Dhankar accused the Kolkata Police of conducting a “politically inspired operation” on November 22. 

Governor tweeted and said that it is alarming to know that Kolkata Police members unnecssrility harassed a CA with the help of a political party. It is sad to know that men in uniform are masters of the ruling political party .

Though, this war of words between the Bengal Governor and Mamata is nothing new. Now, this war on Twitter takes on another level up. 

On Thursday , the Governor take a jibe at Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. 

Dhankhar  tweeted and instructed Banerjee to follow constitutional norms , rule of law and protect human values.
