The murder of a teacher and his family at Jigaunj in Murshidabad has taken a political turn with both with RSS claiming him to be a member of their outfit and BJP demanding CBI enquiry into it .
On Tuesday, Bandhu Prakash Pal, his wife Beauty Praksh Pal and six-year-old son Angan Prakash Pal were hacked to death at around 11 a.m.
Local people said that they had heard loud screams coming from the house.
“When I went inside the house, I saw people running here and there and Beauty’s body lying in a pool of blood. The child’s mouth was tied with a piece of cloth,” a local said.
Sources in the state police said that there is no political connection with the murder of the teacher at Jiagunj and they are investigating the matter.
A senior police officer investigating the case said ” We have not found any political connection with the murder. There is a dispute going on with regards to property with his wife . We will track down the case as early as possible.”
Dilip Ghosh , state BJP president said ” We want CBI enquiry into the death of three members of a family who was murdered on Tuesday The state police has failed to take action against the accused and they are yet to nab the culprit , 48 hours after the mysterious murder of the trio.”
While the family members claimed that Pal was not involved with any political party and both BJP and RSS is trying to politicise the issue, RSS state general secretary Jishnu Bose has said that Pal joined RSS a month back.
Mrinal Ghosh , brother of the deceased Pal said ” I am sure that my brother was not involved in any political party. Both BJP and RSS is trying to politicise the issue . We strongly condemn the politicisation of such a gruesome murder.”
Significantly Governor of West Bengal Jagdeep Dhankar condemned the incident and demanded immediate high level enquiry by the state government into the death of the trio.
” This is a ghastly murder and we all are ashamed at the death of the three members of a family. I have spoken with the state government and I would urge them to look into the matter as early as possible. The investigation must be fair and truth should come out.”
Even RSS West Bengal has decided to write a letter Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding an inquiry into the gruesome murder of their worker, his pregnant wife and their six-year-old son at Jiagunj in Murshidabad.
RSS state general secretary, Jishnu Bose said, “We have already lodged an FIR with the police. But, even after 48 hours the police are yet to nab the culprits. We have also urged the Union Home Minister to inquire into the issue.”
Bose said that Pal became a member of ‘Saptahik Milan’ a weekly magazine of RSS, a month ago. He was very vocal in his thoughts and he recently joined a program of RSS at Sagardighi. He was a teacher at Gosaigram Sahapara Primary High School at Jiagunj in Murshidabd .
Bhairab Das,a local resident of Jiagunj, said: “During the Pujas we have seen them celebrating visiting various pandals in the area. We are all shocked now. The teacher and his family members were very cordial and helped people in times of need .”
The West Bengal RSS have decided to launch protest against the state government for their failure to nab the culprit .
Partha Chatterjee state parliamentary affairs minister said: “Governor is trying to take a political side. It is not acceptable from a Governor ti act like a spokesperson of a political party. He is trying to tarnish the image of the Governor’s chair. Many people died out of lynchings at Uttar Pradesh , Bihar , Tripura ,but Governor did not say anything on this matter. When everybody is enjoying the Durga Puja , Governor is making such a politically motivated comment to vitiate the atmosphere “.
